AVG vs. iTunes? Or AVG vs. Customer Service?
According to Mashable, AVG has had an episode of flagging iTunes as a trojan.
I've had my own experience with AVG and false positives. It should've been a simple matter, but that's not how things turned out. Of course, false positives are going to happen, but AVG's customer service certainly made the experience harder than it had to be, at least for users of the free version. And it looks like AVG still handles matters in a similar fashion.
And that's a shame. Alex Eckleberry from Sunbelt Software actually helped me figure out what was going on during my false positive experience. It's not hard to guess which of these two companies I came away from the experience respecting.
